Brief Description of Event:
On Saturday, October 28, you're invited to grab your gardening gloves and meet us at Johnson Middle School in Southeast DC for a Green Apple Day of Service Project. Green Apple Day of Service is an international movement that unites parents, teachers, students, companies and local organizations for volunteer projects that transform our schools into safe, healthy and sustainable learning environments. This project will focus on restoring the courtyard garden at Johnson Middle School so that it is a desirable and vibrant school amenity. We will rehabilitate two overgrown planter beds that are no longer used, add ornamental species that will educate the students about native planting, and do some other light yard cleanup to encourage greater use of this space.
