Household Items Drive for Refugees in Charlottesville

Event Information
Saturday, September 23, 2017 - 9:30am to 11:00am
Event Address:
1075 Claudius Crozet Park
Crozet, VA 22932
Brief Description of Event:
In support of Virginia’s annual Day to Serve, our congregation is working with local refugee aid organizations to provide needed household supplies to help Charlottesville’s growing refugee community. Hundreds of refugee families fleeing violence in their home countries have come to Virginia seeking a better life. How can you help? See the list at It's mostly small kitchen items necessary for feeding a family, and most items on the list could be very gently used, though new items are appreciated. Decide what you would like to donate to these families, and fill in the sign-up sheet—we’ll send you a reminder! If you are a member of our congregation, bring the items to church before September 23, or drop them off at Claudius Crozet Park on the morning of September 23—we’ll make sure they are distributed to refugee families in Charlottesville. If you heard about this project from someone in our congregation, just let them know when you are ready, and they’ll pick your items up from you before September 23! Thank you for participating! And feel free to pass this great service opportunity along to your friends!
