Brief Description of Event: 
This 17th annual charity run is a challenging, family and community oriented 5K run/walk through downtown historic Smithfield and our beautiful Virginia countryside. All proceeds benefit the Christian Outreach Program in Isle of Wight County.This is a rain or shine event, and being as we are in Virginia, October means it will either be 70 and sunny or 40 and rainy, with any combination in between. Dress for the weather, dress in costume (pigs are always a plus!), as long as you're dressed! Packet Pickup: Friday, October 12th, 6p-8p, Christian Outreach, 402 Grace Street, Smithfield Saturday, October 13th, 7a-8:30a, 100 Commerce Street, Smithfield FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12TH 6:00PM - 8:00PM Packet Pickup at COP (402 Grace St) ​ SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13TH 7:00 AM Race Day Registration (closes at 8:30) 9:00 AM 5K Run/Walk 10:15 AM Kids Piglet Run (Ages 10 and under) 10:30 AM Awards and Post Race Party featuring Gwaltney hot dogs, soda, and beer. Categories 5K Run/Walk Piglet Run (The kids run is a short sprint designed for younger children). Each child will receive a prize. Whole Hog Team Category Groups of 10 or more are only $20 each per runner. Register your group online or by paper registration. Group registrations must be postmarked and delivered in 1 envelope by September 29, 2018. Must have designated team leader to pick up registration bibs and t-shirts. This is your chance to showcase your school, work or social group! Be creative! Post-Race Party After the race, join us for beer (if you're of age!), water, sodas, Gwaltney hot dogs, awards and music. We can't wait to see you!!! Registration Details & Parking Register early and save $5. Pre-registration ends September 29th! Pre-register online or print a paper registration form. Same-day registration available beginning at 7:00 A.M. on Oct. 13th for $35. Please arrive early to get preferred parking in the Smithfield Center. Additional areas to park include: Cedar Street (Across from the Farmer's Market in Town) Clontz Park (Across the bridge toward Smithfield Foods)
