Brief Description of Event: 
The State of Maryland's Kick-Off event for the Governor's 2018 Day to Serve Initiative. Volunteers will work together with the homeless veterans who reside at MCVET on a variety of projects to help revitalize and up lift the Maryland Center for Veteran Education and Training. Projects to include, painting, cleaning, landscaping, sorting of donations and serving homeless veterans lunch. MCVET is a national non-profit organization located in Maryland assiting homeless veterans with Day Drop-In Program, Emergency Shelter Program, Transitional Housing, Single Room Occupancy (SRO), Case Management, Employment & Education, and Benefits Counseling. MCVET’s mission is “To provide homeless veterans and other veterans in need with comprehensive services that will enable them to rejoin their communities as productive citizens.” MCVET is a 249 bed transitional housing facility.
