Since the beginning, the District of Columbia has been at the heart of Day to Serve. Over the past 3 years, hundreds of DC residents have answered the call to feed the hungry and make their communities better each September. Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a proclamation recognizing Day to Serve in the district for 2015. The proclamation recognizes the importance Day to Serve in bringing together neighborhoods in and around the nation's capitol as well as the countless hours of service given.
