Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford Kicks Off 2018 Day to Serve

ANNAPOLIS, MD - Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford today joined the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives and the Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training (MCVET) to help kick off the 2018 Day to Serve initiative in Maryland. Governor Larry Hogan announced Maryland’s participation in the 2018 Day to Serve initiative last month, issuing a proclamation declaring September 11 – October 10 as Day to Serve month in Maryland.

West Virginia Day to Serve awarded Outstanding Leadership award

West Virginia started its “Day to Serve” campaign by awarding outstanding West Virginia volunteers efforts for individuals and groups on the state capitol grounds , in the beautiful state cultural center. Over 300 people in attendance at the banquet and each person in attendance was challenged to participate in a Day to Serve project this month. The West Virginia Day to Serve organization was awarded one of the outstanding leadership awards. Way to go West Virginia !

First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe visisted the Richmond Feed More food bank to receive a large food donation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The donation provided approxmiately 17,000 meals to Virginia familes.
